Clara Barton Society
Investing in the American Red Cross
The Clara Barton Society
is composed of generous individuals who have made
an investment in an organization that has served the
residents of Delaware and Maryland f or
over 100 years. Donors who contribute $1,000 or more
within one fiscal year (July 1 through June 30)
receive this notable distinction, along with our
heartfelt gratitude.
What is it that our Clara Barton
Society donors are investing in? This past year, our
chapter responded to 199 fires, floods, and other
disasters while offering comfort and emergency
services to 354 families in crisis (1,021 people).
We trained more than 15,000 people in life-saving
skills such as CPR and First Aid. We delivered
444 emergency messages for military families. Our volunteer
network is on alert seven days a week, 365 days per
year to help people prevent, prepare for, and
respond to emergencies.
Your chapter of the American Red
Cross relies on the generosity of the corporate
community, organizations, foundations, and
individuals to provide disaster relief and armed
forces emergency services – free of charge – to our
neighbors in Delaware and in the six counties in
Maryland that we serve.
Since we are not a government
agency and are not federally funded, we need your
support in order to continue to effectively and
efficiently serve our nine-county service area. The
Clara Barton Society is a perfect way for you to get
involved in a significant way.
The 2007 Clara
Barton Society campaign is chaired by Roberta Brown,
President, Sassafras River Associates of Galena, MD.
The American Red
Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula is uniquely
qualified and positioned to help provide for our
preparedness, emergency and community preparedness
needs – but we need your help now.
Giving at any level
ensures that the American Red Cross will be there
when you, your family, your neighbors and your
friends need us. We hope you can become – or will
continue to be - a member of the Clara Barton
Society. Will you join
us in continuing to live the mission of the American
Red Cross?
Sponsorship levels are as follows:
William F. duPont established The
Lammot duPont Founder’s Club with the principal gift
to The Clara Barton Society. The Founder’s Club is
the highest level of giving, and is named after
Lammot duPont, Bill’s father, to honor a tradition
of philanthropy from the duPont family that has
carried down through generations. Bill duPont was
“born” into the American Red Cross, believing in and
trusting our dedication to our central mission – to
prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. Mr.
duPont’s support continues to help us perform our
mission within our community everyday.
