Red Cross responds to two New Year’s Day Fires

January 2, 2010 Wilmington, DE - Volunteers with the American Red Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula assisted two families yesterday after fires damaged their homes.

The first family (two adults and three children) received groceries, clothing, infant supplies, and a safe place to stay after a fire damaged their Peach Basket Road in Felton, DE.

The second family (six adults and one infant) lost their home on Broad Street in Perryville, MD to a fire. The Red Cross provided temporary shelter, groceries, clothing, and infant supplies.
