Local Red Cross assists Three Delaware Families

January 4, 2010 Wilmington, DE- Volunteers with the American Red Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula helped three Delaware families yesterday after their homes were damaged.

A Georgetown, DE family of five adults received assistance for groceries and comfort kits after a fire damaged their Cedar Drive home yesterday. The family had other arrangements for temporary shelter.

Volunteers also met with a Felton, DE family of five (two adults and three children) when a fire damaged their Mid-State Road home. The Red Cross provided the family with infant supplies, groceries and a safe place to stay.

A third family received Red Cross assistance after high winds caused a tree to crash into their N. Old State Road home in Lincoln, DE, creating significant damage. The family of three adults received groceries and temporary shelter.
