Family
Of Three Assisted By Red Cross After Glasgow Fire
Wilmington, DE – February 14, 2007 – A
family of three was helped by the Red Cross at
lunchtime today after their Glasgow Trailer Court
home, on South Oxford Drive, was destroyed by fire.
Trained volunteers from the American Red Cross of
the Delmarva Peninsula assisted the family, two
adults and a child, with their emergency needs of
food and seasonal clothing. The family had made
their own arrangements for temporary housing.
With all disasters, large or small, Red Cross
assists with the immediate disaster-caused needs of
those affected – primarily temporary shelter, food
and clothing – free of charge to the recipients. The
families are also referred to other community
partners for their longer term needs, and provided
with information on the steps they should take to
cope with the disaster and plan their recovery. |
