Family Of Six Receive Red Cross Assistance After House Fire

Seaford, DE – May 15, 2007 – A family of six was provided with emergency assistance by Red Cross volunteers after an early morning fire at their home on Ninth Drive, Easton, today. The family was assisted with temporary accommodation, food and clothing by trained disaster volunteers from the American Red Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula.

Typically, the Red Cross provides families displaced by disasters such as home fires and floods with temporary accommodation, groceries and clothing, free of charge to the affected family, thanks to the generosity of the American public. The families are also referred to other community partners for their longer term needs, and provided with information on the steps they should take to cope with the disaster and plan their recovery.
