Apartment Fire in North East, MD – Three Children Die

May 15, 2010, Wilmington, DE- Volunteers with the American Red Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula responded to a multi-unit, multi-family apartment fire this morning on Cedar Hill Circle in North East, MD. Seven units are affected, displacing seventeen people. A mother is in critical condition and was flown to the burn unit in Baltimore. Three children died. The Red Cross volunteers worked with each person to meet their immediate, emergency needs of food, clothing, a safe place to stay, and comfort kits. Red Cross is also providing mental health assistance due to the deaths that occurred.
