50 Years
of Service – American Red Cross Volunteer Recognized
in Chestertown, MD
May 20, 2010,
Wilmington, DE- For 50 years, Mary Ellen
Williams has volunteered for the American Red Cross
serving and caring for others. A native of Grand
Rapids, MI, Mrs. Williams helped make the different
communities she lived in a better and safer place by
delivering Red Cross services. The wife of a career
U.S. Air Force serviceman, Mrs. Williams lived in
many place in the United States and also in Europe.
While living abroad, she also received a Russian Red
Cross service pin. A recognition luncheon was held
on Friday, May 14, at Heron Point, Chestertown, MD,
where American Red Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula
representatives presented Mrs. Williams her Red
Cross 50 year pin and certificate. Mrs. Williams was
also presented a State of Maryland Governor’s
Citation provided by Governor O’Malley’s Office
congratulating her on many years of volunteer
service to the American Red Cross.
