No Holiday for Red Cross Volunteers – Four Fires in Three Days

July 6, 2010, Wilmington, DE- Five volunteers with the American Red Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula have been very busy answering the call for help over the Fourth of July holiday. On July 3, 2010, fire destroyed a home on Blue Ball Road, Elkton, MD affecting 3 adults. Red Cross provided food, clothing, comfort kits and recovery guide. Also on July 3, Red Cross volunteers responded to a fire on Westville Road, Wyoming, DE affecting 1 adult. Red Cross provided a safe place to stay, food, clothing, shoes, storage container, and disaster recovery guide. On July 4, 2010, Red Cross volunteers responded to a home fire on Oxford Drive, Newark, DE affecting a family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Red Cross provided a safe place to stay, food, disaster recovery guide and comfort kits. On July 5, 2010, Red Cross volunteers responded to an apartment fire on Pulaski Highway in Elkton, MD affecting 8 adults and one child. Red Cross provided a safe place to stay, food, clothing, storage containers and disaster recovery guides.
