Red
Cross is proud to receive funding from the United
Fund of Talbot County
August 13, 2010
Wilmington, DE- The ongoing partnership between
the United Fund of Talbot County and the American
Red Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula continues to
provide reassurance to the people of Talbot County.
Thanks to the generosity of the United Fund, the Red
Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula is able to help
Talbot families after a fire and other disasters in
addition to teaching residents how to prevent,
prepare and respond to an emergency.
The Red Cross
assisted 35 Talbot residents whose lives were
changed forever by house fires this past year. These
are just some of the many who received Red Cross
assistance last year. Red Cross assistance following
a disaster may include temporary shelter, clothing,
groceries, comfort kits (various toiletries) and
most importantly—a shoulder to lean upon.
In addition, your
local Red Cross held 65 training sessions to educate
nearly 385 residents of Talbot County prevent,
prepare and respond to emergencies. None of this
would be possible without the United Fund of Talbot
County.
The United Fund’s
partnership assists the American Red Cross of the
Delmarva Peninsula in providing disaster training to
all residents. For more information on Red Cross
services or to join our team of volunteers, please

Red Cross assistance
is a gift to the community, from the community.
