Red Cross Wilmington Response Call Center In “Ready State” For People Affected By Tropical Storm Erin

Red Cross Disaster Response Call Center in Wilmington, DE will be staffed and ready to handle incoming calls from people affected by tropical storm Erin.

The American Red Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula is one of 30 Red Cross units in the U.S. responsible for operating a disaster call center, called the Response Center Enterprise. As part of this network, we are responsible for manning 10 call stations where operators take emergency calls from people affected by disaster. While calls come everyday, this it is especially critical when a catastrophic event occurs.

Beginning the morning of Friday, August 24th, we will be in “ready state” at our Response Call Center in Wilmington. Up to 10 call stations, manned by Red Cross volunteers, will be in “live” mode.

If you would like training to help us help those affected by Erin, please call the Red Cross volunteer line at 302-472-6240, 1-800-777-6620 ext 6240 or email volunteer@redcrossdelmarva.org and help assist those in need.
