Four Templeville residents helped by Red Cross after car accident causes house fire

Wilmington, DE – Oct 23, 2006 – Four residents of a home in Templeville in Caroline County were helped by Red Cross volunteers after a freak fire caused when a car drove through the front of their house. The volunteers from the American Red Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula provided the three adults and one child with temporary lodging, food and other basic needs. They were also given information on how to begin the process of recovery. Three other residents of the house opted to stay with other family members until the damage to their home is repaired.

This disaster relief usually consists of food, clothing and temporary accommodation and guidelines on disaster recovery, well as referral to other community agencies for help with longer-term needs.
