Four
Easton residents assisted by American Cross after
late night fire
Wilmington, DE,
November 3, 2006 – A family of four, whose home
was destroyed in a late night fire at S. Locust Lane
in Easton last night (Thursday November 2nd), was
provided with emergency assistance by the American
Red Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula The four adult
male residents were provided with food,
clothing/shoes and seasonal garments by Red Cross.
The family, who opted to lodge with other members of
family who live in the immediate vicinity, were also
referred to other community agencies for their
longer term disaster recovery needs.
The Red Cross urges
families to take precautions to avoid preventable
home fires, which account for the majority of
personal disasters in local communities. As the
weather becomes colder, fires caused by heating
sources also become more common. Safety tips and
information on home fires can be found at
www.redcrossdelmarva.org.
The American Red
Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula is a member agency
