American Red Cross Workplace Training meets OSHA-identified guidelines.
Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Sudden
cardiac arrest is a leading cause of death in the United States.
It is estimated that
AEDs could save 50,000 lives each year. An
AED
is a portable device that sends an electrical shock to the heart
if it detects an abnormal rhythm.
This course is
designed to teach the use of the AED and its critical importantce
in the cardiac chain of survival.
Adult CPR
This
popular course teaches the skills necessary to recognize and
provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies until advanced
medical personnel arrive. This course is the prerequisite
for AED
training.
First Aid
The
first aid course gives individuals in the workplace the knowledge
and skills to provide first aid care for injuries and sudden
illness. This course does not include information on
breathing or cardiac emergencies.
1-hour injury control modules: Back Injury Prevention; Ergonomics;
Slips, Trips, and Falls;Workplace Violence Awareness; Managing
Stress; and Your Heart Matters available.
